German shepherds are strong, obedient, and intelligent; which is why they are commonly used in police and military forces throughout the world. They are protective and loyal; making them good guard dogs. A few common defects of German shepherds are color paling, hip dysplasia, monorchidism, weakness of temperament, and missing teeth. The American Eskimo DogThe American Eskimo Dogs are companion dogs, sled dogs, watchdogs, and circus dogs. They make good watchdogs because they are very willing when it comes to guarding the house. Eskies will often bark when someone comes to the door. A man also had a line of Eskies who walked across a tightrope in the circus. They are very common in the circus. The toys are usually 9-13 inches tall at the withers, and weigh 6-10 pounds. The miniatures usually are 12-16 inches at the withers, and weigh 10-20 pounds.
